V8 of the Information Governance Toolkit
Version 8 of the Information Governance Toolkit from Connecting for Health has recently been released. It now includes a range of new requirements, as well as a new overall approach to scoring. The Operating Framework for the NHS 2010/11 confirms that information will be included in operational plans. The new IG Toolkits affect a wide range of organisations and bring new requirements. These include the need for a Senior Information Risk Owner in Social Care organisations, evaluation of a range of activities and pseudonymisation/anonymisation.
The requirement for mandatory training for users of personal information is also included in the IG Toolkit.
